This Project aims to strengthen research collaboration and exchanges among APEC economies in accordance with APEC’s principles.

Korea will implement the APEC Scientist Invitation Program from July to December 2026 with the Ministry of Science and ICT, the National Research Foundation of Korea and participating universities and research institutes. The program will provide workshops and lab-based activities within the defined fields of physics, chemistry, earth science and life science and match researchers with host institutions according to their research fields. It will exclude the development of new inventions, scientific/medical trials, promotion of specific products, services, firms or individuals, investment or business matchmaking, standalone competitions, or activities involving minors or animals.

Participants will receive support for airfare, accommodation, and settlement. They will engage in lab research, mentoring, institutional visits, networking, and cultural experiences. Expected contributions include further researcher exchanges, co-authored journal articles, and collaborative research programs.
