Project Summary

*

Following the outcomes of the 2025 APEC Ocean-related Ministerial Meeting, APEC economies have been working toward the development of the APEC Ocean Resilience Enhancement Roadmap. On the basis that the Roadmap is expected to be finalized through the OFWG process, this project will organize the 2nd APEC Ocean Resilience Enhancement Conference to support the identification of practical and voluntary actions for its future Implementation Plan.

The conference will focus on the Roadmap’s four action areas: resilient fisheries and aquaculture systems; multi-hazard disaster risk management and preparedness; marine data, forecasting and decision-support cooperation; and coastal and marine ecosystem resilience. Through thematic sessions and working-level discussions, economies will share relevant priorities, experiences and possible cooperation activities, with a view to consolidating inputs for further review through the OFWG process.

The event is expected to be held in October 2026 in Busan, Republic of Korea.
