Project Summary

*

As the core engine of global energy development, to ensure energy security the Asia-Pacific region will continue to utilise fossil energy in the short term. CCUS/CCS is a key technology for economies pursuing carbon neutrality globally, providing a sustainable technological path for the clean utilization of fossil energy. The project will revolve around the theme of "CCUS/CCS Enabling Clean, Efficient, and Low‑Emissions Energy Systems", starting with the best practical applications of APEC economies in relevant industries, aiming to promote technical cooperation, joint research and development, and demonstration of clean technologies such as CCUS/CCS among APEC economies. Firstly, it will summarize the current development status of CCUS/CCS in APEC and the advanced experiences and technologies achieved. Secondly, through a series of activities, such as field research and international exchange seminars, opportunities for mutual learning and exchange will be provided for APEC economies to share best practice cases and applications. Finally, it is hoped that through these series of activities, APEC will further emphasize the importance of clean energy utilization technologies such as CCUS/CCS, providing valuable references for governments, universities, research institutions, enterprises, and other organizations to carry out related research, investment, planning, consulting, decision-making, and other work.
