he proliferation of cross-border e-commerce trade in the post-pandemic era presents vast opportunities for MSMEs across the APEC region to tap into and expand their businesses in the global markets.
Through a seminar to be held in mid-June 2026 in Hong Kong, China with participation of MSME entrepreneurs and representatives, industry experts, MSME support organisations and policymakers, this project seeks to enhance understanding of the latest e-commerce market trends and opportunities in the APEC region with an aim to enable greater participation of MSMEs in global value chains through e-commerce. It will examine the opportunities and challenges faced by MSMEs in tapping into e-commerce markets and discuss the strategies, useful tools and best practices that could be adopted by MSMEs and policymakers to increase MSMEs’ access to e-commerce in the region. A guided tour of an e-commerce themed expo will follow. The project will promote digital transformation and innovations for MSMEs.
