Project Summary

*

Technologies that support management of industrial emissions and processes have improved efficiency and reduced costs across sectors. The integration of AI-enabled capabilities into infrastructure technologies and services - spanning water and wastewater treatment and reuse, waste management and materials recovery, chemicals management, and industrial emissions monitoring and control - is already driving greater precision, enhanced safety, and more actionable data-driven insights across a number of economies. This project seeks to advance infrastructure modernization across APEC, increasing awareness and understanding of the types of technologies available, as well as the enabling conditions required for the effective use of digital and AI-enabled monitoring technologies. This project will foster information exchange on the types of technologies being used across APEC and the standards and certifications that guide their implementation. The project will also promote collaboration with the private sector, particularly technology manufacturers, and sharing of industry perspectives on standards alignment, certification practices, and transparent procurement processes.
