Project Summary
Digital Trade Policy Dialogues (TPD) have been a forum for policymakers and industry representatives to examine emerging trends and common challenges in the digital economy. As economies continue to recognize the potential of AI to transform innovation and economic growth, and in furtherance of the APEC AI Initiative and the 2025 APEC Digital and AI Ministerial Statement, the United States seeks to continue to support digital trade through trade policy dialogues and targeted case study development. The deliverables will focus on advancing AI transformation and addressing specific challenges in AI and digital trade, aiming to support an enabling environment for industry-led AI innovation. The outputs will include a TPD on these topics in 2026, a case study compendium that highlights AI success stories and outlines challenges and recommendations, and a TPD in 2027 which will seek to advance the 2026-2030 APEC AI Initiative and elevate promising examples from the region.
