The APEC Sports Policy Network (ASPN) operates under the Education Network (EDNET) of the APEC Human Resources Development Working Group (HRDWG). Initiated in 2016, ASPN has convened annual meetings that bring together government officials from APEC member economies to share sports-related policies, exchange best practices, and strengthen international cooperation in the sports sector. Since 2018, ASPN has further expanded its efforts by launching an International Sports Innovation Accelerator Program, leveraging resources to cultivate sports innovation and talent development through cross-border collaboration and resource integration. In March 2026, the project plans to host 1 ASPN meeting and 1 international forum, with the participation of representatives from 8 to 12 APEC member economies. The proposed theme focuses on sports innovation in connection with international sport events.
