Good regulatory practices (GRPs) enhance transparency, improve regulatory quality, and minimize trade and investment disruptions. GRPs have been a longstanding priority for APEC, with the SCSC and the Economic Committee advancing practical approaches to promote efficient regulatory systems. Furthermore, APEC policymakers continue to examine and discuss ways to improve transparency and predictability throughout the regulatory development process. Drawing from APEC’s Blueprint for Advancing Good Regulatory Practices in the APEC Region, this project provides an opportunity for APEC economies to deepen their understanding of GRP principles and their practical application. Through a short briefing note on a select GRP (or complementary GRPs), this project will strengthen cooperation, improve regulatory outcomes, and help prevent unnecessary obstacles to trade.
