Cross-border e-commerce in the APEC region is growing rapidly, faced with the defining characteristics of cross-border e-commerce—low value, high frequency, and fragmented transactions—the customs across economies face varying challenges in supervision. This project focuses on operationalizing the principles of promoting seamless connectivity, resilient supply chains and responsible business conduct through experience sharing among customs administrations of economies. Activities include a regional survey and a workshop. Participants include customs officers, trade experts, and logistics providers. Outputs include some workshop notes and a project summary report. The project supports APEC goals on trade facilitation and digital innovation under the Putrajaya Vision 2040 and Aotearoa Plan of Action, with an emphasis on practical cooperation in customs processes across APEC economies.
