This project aims to explore measures for advancing transparency while utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) at work, so as to enhance worker welfare. Specifically, this project will explore: (1) how economies can ensure workers will benefit from the adoption of AI in the workplace to increase their productivity; (2) measures for promoting transparency and improving worker welfare in response to AI adoption; and (3) best practices of member economies. By aligning with these topics, this project will hold a workshop in October 2025. Deliverables of this project are expected to inspire member economies with human-centered approaches to enhance transparency of AI and advance welfare for the workforce, contributing to realize key action areas of the APEC HRDWG LSPN Action Plan (2025-2026) and the Joint Statement of the 7th Human Resources Development Ministerial Meeting, as well as inclusive human resources development outlined in the Aotearoa Plan of Action.
