This project addresses global food loss and waste (FLW) challenges, aligning with APEC’s The Food Security Roadmap Towards 2030. The proposed workshop, "The Role of Standards in Reducing Food Loss and Waste and Promoting Sustainable Economic Growth," emphasizes the role of standards in managing FLW across all stages (harvest, processing, transport, sales). Activities include research on standardization practices, a workshop to share best practices and demonstrate innovative techniques, and the development of approaches to advance FLW reduction through standards. This collaborative effort will enhance APEC economies’ capacity to reduce FLW, promotes sustainable practices, and supports the establishment of resilient agri-food systems.
