The linear economy, as we now live, is not only reliant on limited resources, but it also creates harms to environment and the society. However, there is an opportunity and solution to these problems. A smarter use of raw materials can lower the environmental externalities with the help of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) in advancing the practice of circular economy toward the resilient and sustainable development of APEC region.
This project focuses on three objectives. First, it aims to capitalize on NXPO’s and APEC CTF’s studies to assess technological capacity and establish the technology roadmap for the development of circular economy in Thailand and extend to the APEC level. Second, it explores the global demand and market opportunities for the use of essential Circular Economy technology. Last, it examines the direction and strategy that APEC economies can cooperate in terms of STI. The project will begin in October and the expected outcomes will be a policy recommendation to the APEC economies.
