The APEC Cooperation for Earthquake Simulation (ACES) is a multi-lateral grand challenge research cooperation of APEC endorsed at the APEC Industrial Science and Technology Working Group (ISTWG) Singapore 1997, and it was re-endorsed by PPSTI in 2014. The main purpose of the ACES project is to understand the earthquake and tsunami generation mechanism in Asia Pacific region. One of the main activities in the ACES project is the International workshop scheduled every two year.
The 9th ACES International Workshop will be held in Chengdu, China during Aug.10-16, 2015, including a two day field trip to 2008 Wenchuan M8.0 earthquake fault zone.
The Workshop will consist of seven plenary scientific sessions and four special sessions, such as numerical simulation and prediction of earthquake, tsunami, etc.
