As the global food supply chain grows more complex, it becomes more challenging for policy makers to respond to emerging issues in a timely manner including the prompt analysis of impacts and technical support to the affecting industry. This workshop will help better inform economies of updated intelligence and innovative approaches to emerging issues for ensuring food safety.  The primary beneficiaries are working-level to department head APEC-economy food agency regulators involved in all aspects of food safety regulation. This workshop will be held in the Republic of Korea during SOM2, and generate a workshop summary report as a project output. Participation in this workshop will facilitate the sharing of updated information and innovative approaches, including technology use, though all economies will benefit from sharing their regulatory practices in responding to emerging issues.
